GTN-P

The Canadian Permafrost Monitoring Network provides long-term field observations of active layer and permafrost thermal state which are essential for understanding the present permafrost conditions and the detection of the terrestrial climate signal in permafrost and its temporal and spatial variability.

This network contributes to Canada's obligations to provide systematic cryospheric observations under the World Meteorological Organization's Global Climate Observing System.

This web site provides information on the Canadian Permafrost Monitoring Network and will act as a data collection and dissemination node.

This site also forms a link to other cryospheric nodes such as the Global Terrestrial Network for Permafrost (GTN-P).
